The problem
Rankings tell you who’s good. Not what to do with your picks.
Most dynasty managers walk into their rookie draft with a rankings list and a vague sense of which positions they need. That’s not a strategy. You don’t know whether your 2nd-round pick is worth more as a trade chip than a selection. You don’t know if your biggest roster hole is at linebacker or wide receiver. You don’t know what to do when your top prospect gets taken two picks before yours.
Verdict doesn’t give you another rankings list. It analyzes your specific roster, classifies your team’s competitive posture, scores every positional need by urgency, and delivers a pick-by-pick action plan before draft night — with IF/THEN contingencies for the scenarios that will actually unfold.
How it works
From roster to game plan in seconds
01
Your Roster, Classified
Verdict reads your roster and classifies your team as a contender, fringe, or rebuild — then writes a custom draft approach based on where you actually stand. Contenders draft for immediate impact. Rebuilders stack picks. Everyone else has a different calculus, and Verdict knows the difference.
02
Every Pick, a Decision
For each pick you own, Verdict delivers a verdict: keep it or trade it. Keeping it? You get a shortlist of target prospects by draft slot. Trading it? You get the specific opponent to call, the package to propose, and the pitch to send in your league chat.
03
Ready for Draft Night
Before the picks start flying, you get positional targets ranked by urgency and a set of contingency plans. If your top prospect gets taken, you know your pivot. No panic. No scrambling. No “let me check rankings real quick” on the clock.
What’s included
Everything your draft prep is missing
Keep or Trade, Pick by Pick
Verdict evaluates every round and season of draft capital you hold against your roster’s actual needs. Each pick comes back with a clear recommendation — keep it with named target prospects, or trade it with a specific opponent, package, and pitch. You walk in with decisions already made.
Positional Needs, Ranked by Urgency
Critical. Moderate. Depth. Verdict scores every position on your roster and tells you exactly what you must address in this draft, what you should target if available, and what’s just a nice-to-have. IDP positions — linebacker, defensive back, defensive lineman — get the same analysis as your skill positions.
Draft Day Contingencies
Dynasty drafts never go as planned. Verdict builds IF/THEN contingency plans for your most likely scenarios — the prospect who might fall, the position run that could strand you, the pick you need to protect. You’ll know what to do before you need to know it.
FAQ
Questions about Draft Strategy
How is this different from dynasty rankings?
Rankings tell you who’s good. Draft Strategy tells you what to do with your picks. It evaluates your specific draft capital against your specific roster, flags your positional gaps by urgency, and tells you whether each pick is worth more as a selection or a trade chip. Rankings don’t know you own three first-round picks and no starting linebacker. Verdict does.
Does it work for IDP leagues?
Yes. Linebacker, defensive back, and defensive lineman needs are analyzed alongside offensive positions — not lumped together or ignored. If your linebacker room is a critical gap, Verdict flags it and surfaces the prospects most likely to fix it.
When should I run Draft Strategy?
Ideally one to two weeks before your rookie draft — early enough to act on any pre-draft trade recommendations. The analysis caches so you can reopen it on draft night without regenerating from scratch. Hit Refresh anytime your roster changes between now and then.
Does it recommend specific prospects to target?
Yes. For each pick you’re advised to keep, Verdict surfaces the top available prospects at that draft slot based on current dynasty values. For critical positional needs, it names the prospects most likely to address the gap — not a generic ranking, but players who fit what your roster actually needs.
Does this cover startup drafts?
Not yet. Draft Strategy is built for rookie drafts — evaluating your picks against available prospects. Startup draft support is planned but not yet available.
