The problem
The waiver wire punishes guessing. You’ve been guessing.
Every week, dynasty managers spend hours cross-referencing trending lists, scrolling Twitter, and trying to decide if a player is a must-add or just noise. Then they guess on FAAB. They overbid on a player who flames out in week three. They underbid on the breakout every other team in their league saw coming — the one they needed most.
The problem isn’t effort. It’s signal. Trending lists tell you what everyone else is adding, not what your roster actually needs. Generic rankings tell you who’s good in a vacuum — not whether your specific positional holes make this player a must-add for your team. Verdict fixes this. A 6-factor scoring engine analyzes your roster, evaluates up to 300 available players, and delivers ranked recommendations with FAAB bids in seconds.
How it works
From waiver wire to verdict in three steps
01
Connect your Sleeper league
Enter your Sleeper username. Verdict reads your full roster, your positional depth at every spot, your remaining FAAB budget, and your league’s scoring settings — including IDP if you play it.
02
Score every available player
Verdict evaluates up to 300 available players on 6 factors: dynasty value, your specific positional need, recent momentum, projection value, opportunity, and consistency. Every player gets an urgency classification — Must Add, Strong Add, Monitor, or Depth Stash — based on your team, not a generic ranking.
03
Get your FAAB verdict
For each top recommendation, Verdict gives you a conservative, recommended, and aggressive FAAB bid — adjusted to your remaining budget. It also tells you which player to drop to make room, and whether you should try to trade them first before cutting.
Features
Three things most waiver tools can’t do
FAAB bids, not gut feelings
Verdict gives you a conservative, recommended, and aggressive FAAB bid for every player — plus exactly what percentage of your remaining budget that is. Bid $18 when you have $200 left is very different from bidding $18 when you have $40. Verdict knows the difference.
Dynasty mode and win-now mode
Rebuilding teams and contenders should look at the waiver wire completely differently. Every player gets a separate Dynasty Score and Win-Now Score, so you know whether a pickup fits your 2026 rebuild or your playoff push — not just whether they’re “a good add.”
Must Add or Depth Stash — know the difference
Not every waiver wire article is worth acting on. Verdict classifies every recommendation: Must Add means drop everything, grab him now. Depth Stash means a late claim if you have the roster spot. Stop spending FAAB like every add has equal urgency.
Under the hood
How the scoring engine works
Every available player is scored on 6 factors, each weighted to reflect how much they actually move the needle on your waiver wire decision:
- Dynasty Value (up to 25 pts) — Long-term dynasty score from Verdict’s proprietary player valuation model, built on age, production trajectory, and positional scarcity.
- Positional Need (up to 25 pts) — How thin your roster is at this position right now. A second RB add scores differently than a sixth WR.
- Momentum (up to 15 pts) — Recent usage trends and target share trajectory from the last 3–4 weeks of data.
- Projection Value (up to 15 pts) — Expected fantasy production based on role, matchups, and opportunity.
- Opportunity Score (up to 10 pts) — Snap count, snap percentage, and opportunity share relative to the rest of the offense.
- Consistency (up to 10 pts) — Week-to-week reliability — useful for separating high-ceiling boom-or-bust players from consistent floor guys.
The result is a 0–100 Waiver Priority Score that’s unique to your roster — not a universal ranking. Two managers in the same league see different recommendations because they have different needs.
Optional AI analysis adds a plain-language explanation for each recommendation. Trigger it for a single player or your entire top-15 list at once.
IDP? Fully supported. Actually.
Most tools treat IDP as an afterthought — a separate tab, a different product, or just “coming soon.” Verdict scores linebackers, defensive backs, and defensive linemen through the same 6-factor engine as skill positions.
IDP-specific scoring accounts for tackle opportunity, sack rate, and positional scarcity in IDP leagues. If you play Sleeper IDP, Verdict’s waiver recommendations reflect your full roster — not just the offensive side.

FAQ
Questions about Waiver Assistant
Is the FAAB recommendation calibrated to my actual budget?
Yes. Verdict tracks your remaining FAAB and adjusts every bid recommendation to it. A player valued at $30 in a vacuum gets a completely different recommendation if you have $200 left vs. $45 left. The percentage-of-budget callout makes sure you’re never bidding into a bad spot.
How is this different from Sleeper’s trending players list?
Sleeper’s trending list shows you what everyone else is adding. Verdict shows you what your team specifically needs. Two managers in the same league see different Waiver Assistant rankings because they have different positional holes, different FAAB budgets, and different dynasty vs. win-now situations. That’s the entire point.
Does Waiver Assistant work for IDP leagues?
Yes — fully. Linebackers, defensive backs, and defensive linemen are scored through the same 6-factor engine as skill positions. IDP is not a separate product or an afterthought at Verdict. If you play Sleeper IDP, your waiver recommendations reflect your full roster.
What does the AI analysis actually add?
The algorithm does the heavy lifting. The optional AI analysis adds a plain-language explanation of why a specific player ranked where they did on your team. Trigger it per player or for your full top-15 list at once. It’s optional, not required.
What’s the drop candidate feature?
For every waiver recommendation, Verdict identifies the weakest player on your current roster who could make room for the add. It also checks whether you’d be better off trying to trade that player before cutting them — and identifies which opponents might want them.
